Report on Corporate Governance

King IIIThe final version of King III was released by the Institute of Directors (IOD) on 1 September 2009.

This third report on Corporate Governance in South Africa became necessary because of the New Companies Act no.71 of 2008 and changes in international governance trends. The release of King III therefore represents a significant milestone in the evolution of Corporate Governance in our country.

Nkonki Inc is committed to engaging the recommendations of King III and to practically support our clients in understanding and implementing them, and thus play a meaningful role in enhancing the overall Application of the Principles and Recommendations of the King III report on Corporate Governance.

Whilst we understand that achieving good governance is no easy task, we believe that sound governance practises offer numerous benefits and we would like to encourage companies to integrate such practises into their operational processes.

This guide summarises the Key elements of the King III Report, and we trust that it will assist in providing practical understanding and guidance to all our clients and stakeholders.
