ABASA 2008 FQE DINNER

The Johannesburg and Pretoria branches of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA) hosted their annual FQE Dinner on Thursday 8 May 2008 at The Ballroom, Gallagher Estate in Midrand. Nkonki was invited and represented by our newly qualified Chartered Accountants - Zanele Ramabele, Bathabile Shezi, Simbongile Manzi and Lufuno Makhuba. They were accompanied by veterans in the CA profession, Malungelo Jita, Nomfuyo Galeni and Brian Mungofa.

The purpose of the dinner is to recognise the achievements of the candidates who passed the FQE exams. The dinner also served as a fundraising platform for the ABASA bursary fund initiative and the funds that were generated from the function went towards awarding bursaries to black learners who are aspiring to be Chartered Accountants. The ABASA Johannesburg and Pretoria branches currently fund students at various institutions studying towards a CA qualification.
