Role and Experience
Mvume has a Masters Degree in Computer Science which he obtained from Alabama University in the USA. He worked as a programmer for IBM in Florida USA for 1 year after which he returned to South Africa and worked for SASOL and Mercedes Benz South Africa before joining Nkonki Consulting. He also worked for the Eastern Cape Gambling and Betting Board as an IT Manager. He was responsible for establishing the IT department at the Board. Mvume has been responsible for designing and developing many outstanding computer programs. Some of these include a bank reconciliation system currently used by the Department of Social Development, which was initially used to reconcile a bank account from which approximately 400 000 cheques were issued every month (until the payment method for social grants was changed).
